Collection: Tree Peony Shop

Tree peonies are long-lived flowering shrubs known for their exceptionally large, luxurious blooms and woody structure. Unlike herbaceous peonies that die back to the ground each winter, tree peonies form permanent woody stems that remain year-round and increase in size and bloom capacity each season. Over time, they develop into substantial landscape shrubs that can live for decades, or even generations, once established.

In spring, tree peonies produce some of the most dramatic flowers in the ornamental garden. Blooms are often large, fully double, and richly layered, with forms that can resemble ruffled silk or hand-painted tissue. Colors range widely, from pure whites and soft blush tones to glowing yellows, apricots, deep reds, and near-black burgundies, often with subtle gradients that shift as the flowers mature. Many varieties also carry a light, pleasant fragrance.

Tree peonies are slow to establish but highly rewarding. A young plant may take a few seasons to reach full flowering strength, but once established, it becomes more reliable and impressive each year. They prefer well-drained soil, protection from harsh winds, and a spot where they can remain undisturbed for many years.

This collection includes a curated selection of mature and grafted tree peonies chosen for bloom quality, color range, and garden performance. Whether you are starting a collection or adding a statement plant to an established landscape, tree peonies offer a rare combination of elegance, longevity, and seasonal impact that few other shrubs can match.
